ClickPOS Internet Explorer Setup Guide

Before you can login to ClickPOS, you are required to perform the following steps.


OVERVIEW

    
    1. Setup Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 &/or Internet Explorer 7 
    (Internet Explorer 8 is currently not supported, unless in compatibility view)
        -    Manual Setup - Internet Options | General Tab
        -    Manual Setup - Internet Options | Privacy Tab
        -    Manual Setup - Page Setup (Optional)
    
    2. Download & Run "ClickPOS Security Resolution"
    
    3. Check current "Date and Time" settings


INSTRUCTIONS


1. Setup Microsoft Internet Explorer


    Internet Options | General Tab
    -    Open Internet Explorer, navigate to "Tools - Internet Options - General Tab"
    -    Click "Settings" under "Browsing History"
    -    Set "Check for newer version of stored pages:" to 
         "Every visit to the page" (IE6)
         or 
         "Every "time I visit the webpage" (IE7 & IE8)
    -    Set "Disk space to use" to 1mb (IE6) or 8mb (IE7 & IE8)
    -    Click "OK"
          IE8 & IE9 Users Only
    -    Click Delete (Browsing history) 
    -    Ensure that 'Preserve Favorites Websites Data' is NOT checked and click delete

    Internet Options | Privacy Tab
    -    Navigate to "Privacy Tab" (still in Internet options)
    -    Move "Internet Zone" setting bar to the botton - "Accept all cookies"
    -    Un-tick "Pop-up Blocker" 
        (if you require this to be left on, it will then require manual setup, contact your IT administrator) 
    -    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Page Setup (Optional)
    -    "Internet Explorer - File - Page Setup"
    -    Delete any header & footer information
    -    Set page margins to required settings
         (Advice: page margins of 0 may cut off A4 printing) 
    -    Click "OK"

2. Download & Run "ClickPOS Security Resolution" Patch

    DOWNLOAD ClickPOS SECURITY RESOLUTION PATCH HERE

   You must be logged into the PC as a "Local PC Administrator" to perform the next steps
    
    XP USERS
    -    Download above patch
    -    Unzip to safe location
    -    Double click the file
    -    Follow all promtps
    -    Click "OK" when you see below prompt 
        "Information in "C:\xxxxxxxxxxxxxx\security_resolution.reg has been successfully entered into the registry"
    -    Reboot PC   
    VISTA USERS
    -    Download above patch
    -    Unzip to safe location
    -    Right click on "security_resolution.reg", selecting "Merge"
    -    Follow all promtps
    -    Click "OK" when you see below prompt 
        "Information in "C:\xxxxxxxxxxxxxx\security_resolution.reg has been successfully entered into the registry"
    -    Reboot PC    

    Important Notes:
    It's extremely Important that all ClickPOS sites & I.P Addresses are added to the trusted zone of Internet Explorer
    As we are required to be trusted, it allows unhindered communication between ClickPOS and your PC.
    Correct settings will prevent login issues, allow effective printing and ensure you're not risking your PC's security.

3. Check current "Date and Time" settings

    -    Double click on the time clock in the lower right corner of Windows
    -    Check "Time and Date"
    -    Select the "Time Zone" tab
    -    Ensure your "Time Zone" is correct
